I noticed one thing in Seoul that it's not common to have fresh fruits served as a dessert or something common like we have in other SE Asian countries. So I got to check on their local market and found out some fruits like apple/orange are at a selling price of US$2-3. So I further checked on this Dragon Fruit and it's US$4 for 100g. Then this one is US$32. So next time if you are in Korea and served with a slice of Dragon fruit, then you are treated as a VVIP. :) FYI, in HK I spent US$1.2 to 1.8 for 3 dragon fruits from Thailand and US$1.2 for 3-4 Sunkist oranges...etc.

Yes, but not sure if the customs would be strict on that. If so, it will be a very expensive penalty.

ReplyDeleteI just came to recall why the Korean farmers were so overreacted during the WHO held in HK. If the other cheap fruits/grains (like rice from Thailand and fruits from USA...etc.), that would affect them a lot when they make such a high selling price. I noticed the rice in Seoul isn't cheap at all - US$10 for 1.5kg. So it's better to eat outside.

In fact I really like the way Korean eats - lots of veggie and the chilli is quite good in vitamin and anti-oxidant. Mmh... can't find much western food in Seoul.
