清茶淡飯 steamed rice and a cup of tea

I often got asked by my friends why I can take plain rice and plain bread without any soy sauce or butter/jam...etc.  I'd often tell plain rice and plain bread do taste and that's the nice rice and bread original flavour.  This scene reminds me of how my grand ma warned me of not leaving one rice left in the bowl.  So whenever possible, I would do so - not a single rice left.

Gecko in a glass, life in the childhood

This gecko reminds me of my childhood that I used to run around with my school mates on the hillside, finding interesting bugs or any wild life.  That was the fun time costing not a dime, but I learned a lot from this natural encountering.

Little brother, little sister

Everyone's childhood can be simple and innocent.  No complexity.  No planning.  No targeting.  No guessing.  No plotting.  No other third parties involvement.

Tan Shui, (淡水), Taiwan

The first time I was here, this place wasn't yet that developed.  Subway still couldn't reach here.  Not many shops, not many tourists, and no traffic jam.  This time I chose to come here in the morning time. There I found the tranquil of this place again.

Food court, basement, Raffles Place, Singapore

Almost 20 years ago I came here and this water fountain was one of the highlights of this mall.  That was the first time I was in Singapore.  I had a nice wasabi ice cream from here.  Since then, I couldn't find it anywhere else.  Probably it's too authentic to most people.

Singapore, May, 2013

A late afternoon I passed by the bank of Boat Quay.  The scene made me think of my primary school friends.  Thought about looking for them thru' the social networking forums, but I'd rather let go of it.  Doesn't mean I forget them, but after so many years, they have been in another walk of life, and as I have been too.  Just leave the memory as it is.  Let it be in those years of frame.

Paris, after the rain

There are times whenever I see some scenes, I would think about my grand parents and parents.  What if they could be with me to see it.  What if they didn't get bothered with their tough living days but simply joined me at these scenes.  What if I see them smile.  What if they see me smile too.

The sky don't hide

This photo was taken over 10 years ago with my old Panasonic LC33.  The photo showed IFC 2  and Four Seasons hadn't been completed.   I was on a ferry returning from Lamma Island.  Always enjoy going there, in solitude for a simple nature.  The sky don't hide.  The sea don't ride.  The breeze don't bide.  Innocent as it is.....

Le Breeza, Tai Hang, Causeway Bay HK

Thought about if I should write on this restaurant as I was invited to a dinner at this place.  Sometimes it's hard to control how the dinner will be either on the food or the service quality, just like I brought some of my friends to places that dropped the quality and services.  So don't feel bad for such a quality drop when we try to share something nice with the others.  The food is just only there for an hour and gone in minutes, but friendship doesn't.
Overall, this place is quite cozy and serves some lunch and dinner set (at the price range of HK$100 for lunch and 200 for dinner), including a salad or soup, main course and coffee or tea.  The food is at average but as we wanted to get some bread, we got told we had to order it.  Then during the dinner, we got smoked from their pan frying oil fume due to their ventilator's failure.  However, no apologetic gesture was given from the shop and even those waiters smoked outside of the shop for a break.  I tried not to label Tin Hau but 10 out of 10 shops have been pretty disappointing to me.  One more to be posted later.

Grappa's, Italian restaurant, Taikoo Place, Quarry Bay HK

This decent Italian restaurant once again told that a real pizza is much cheaper than those by Pizza Hut (HK$108 vs. 198).  What's more, a nice salad with fine ingredients is more healthy than those salad bar with a small plate for stunt man show.  I tried a very nice rissoto with very fresh grilled seafood at just HK$148!.  The whole meal is just HK$300 something.  *Grappa's made the pizza in a bite size.  Good to eat it in an elegant manner.
