29 Palms, CA, USA

I was so happy to find this photo taken on the freeway 62 on a car ride from Palm Springs, north to Yucca Valley and all the way eastward passing thru' 29 Palms. This area is an important area of the States as there are many secret military experiments. Of course, those bases wouldn't be along on this freeway 62. Then about an hour something drive, you would hit freeway 95. Turn north and there is a nice town Laughlin and Bullhead City where the 3 states touch each other (AZ, NV and CA). One more hour drive to the north is Las Vegas!

1. What a view and the road seems to be endless.

Cherry Pie by Billy's Reed, North Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, Southern California, USA

I can't believe I found out this photo taken a long long time ago. I didn't take photos much back then. This photo meant so much to me as Billy's Reed in Palm Springs is my most favourite restaurant in Palm Springs. Their cakes and pies are awesome! I used to order a half tuna melt sandwich (a full portion at SE Asian standard), coleslaw and a cup of clam chowder, followed by either a pumpkin pie or cherry pie.

Palm Springs, CA

Spent almost a year in Palm Springs, California in 1994. I recalled I wrote to my friend in Taipei, telling her "seeing the snow up on the Mount San Jacinto but I am on a ground of high heat....". Yes, this is the scene. Also looking at the swaying palm trees. Imagine if they are whispering to you. That's how I came up with my email name whispalms - whispering palms. I treasure this photo so much, witnesses my feeling for Palm Springs.

UFO cloud, Palm Springs

On my last trip in Palm Springs in February, 2006, I took a photo of this interesting cloud. In fact, I saw an UFO in September, 1994. At 10pm something I looked up in the sky as usual watching the stars. There it suddenly came. A jelly-fish like machine transparent with some electro light running gently, showed up. I couldn't tell the distance. It might look so big but staying up high. It was like a flying kite size. In just half a second, it ascended vertically and disappeared. Just a night before that sighting, my friend told me "someday we will miss the calmness of today if we look back someday.". Yes, I do miss that now....

on I-10 freeway to Palm Springs

A trip back to Palm Springs in 2006. Interstate freeway 10 is like an old friend of mine on the section from Los Angeles to Palm Springs. The windmills told that it will be another 20 minutes to reach Palm Springs and turn into highway 111 to Palm Canyon Drive.
