Cafe Moccato, Novotel Citygate, Tung Chung HK

This hotel name often made me hesitant to try their new branches, from the 90% disappointments of a number of Novotel, especially the Novotel in Wanchai.  However, I got told that this Novotel Citygate offers some pretty nice buffet.  So as I passed by its cafe, I tried some mocha and a cake.  It's beyond my expectation.  What's more, the prices aren't that expensive.  Mocha and coffee are around HK$28-32 and the cakes at around HK$22-28.

The Glass House, Aetas Lumpini BKK

The cafe is on the basement with a green patio on the outside leaving it with more natural sunlight in the day time.  The breakfast is pretty nice - fresh veggie and fruit.  The bread is not bad either, but the coffee was so so.  Noticed the occupancy rate wasn't high during my stay and good to have a relaxing ambience.

Chocolab, Sofitel So, Sathorn/Rama 4 joint BKK

Just as its name, everything in the shop is all chocolate in such an intrigued decoration.  Feels like being in another wonderland.  Got an iced mocha.  Pretty good.  I can say it's a very heavy cocoa mass and the hot choco. is even a double recipe of a classic hot choco. drink (normally the classic recipe is double thickness of quite many common choco. drink, i.e. this one is quadruple of the common one).  You can dilute it into 4 portions if you want a common one - very economical.  After so many years I had a big pimple after a few sip of this drink.  It told how rich and original of this choco. drink.
P.S. the shop quoted a famous line from "Forrest Gump" - Life is like a box of Chocolate (you never know what you are gonna get.).

The power of music and a lunch at River Barge, Chatrium riverside BKK

Music is a key part in many business venue for promoting the image, enhancing the atmosphere and generating more business.  However, when some negative music is played, all the above will be overturned.  When I had a lunch with my friends in this place, we kept on listening some very sad Chinese songs like 血染的風采 (bloody attitude),嘆三年 (sighing for 3 years)...etc.  Our mood was definitely turned down and though the food we ordered wasn't wrong, we didn't feel like eating.

Breakfast at Momo Cafe, MEA Sathorn Vista

Not just the hotel service is better than the other Marriott run properties, this Momo cafe branch outperformed the others, in terms of food quality and service.  Nice cold cut and fresh fruits and veggie.  Bread and pastry as well as coffee are not to be missed.

2012 Autumn review: dinner buffet at Espresso, Intercontinental BKK

The prime rib and the house-made ice cream are still kept at good quality.  All the other cold and hot dishes are at average to above average.  As noted, it wasn't crowded as before, or even considered as pretty empty.  Good for me to have an ambient dinner simply for the prime rib and ice cream.

Breakfast at Cape Dara hotel, northern Pattaya, Thailand

Though the services and the hotel facilities were pretty disappointing, the breakfast was not bad. At least the bread and pastry and the chef made some pretty nice omelette, and very fresh fruit too.
