Re-visit: Centre Point Wireless Road being Grande Centre Point Ploenchit BKK

Centre Point soi 15, Langsuan and this Wireless Road were my regular choices in the very early days of BKK visits.  Even held some conference and liaise my business associates to hold conferences for these few branches, in addition to bringing friends and family to stay here.  When I looked at this Centre Point, I often recall how my nephew got surprised to see an apt. with a balcony to feel like standing out in the sky with an open view that there weren't any buildings blocked right in front of you in a few feet.
This Wireless branch has renamed herself to Grande Centre point Ploenchit.  The room has been renovated but the bath room is still the same.  The good thing of staying here is the convenient location with Central Embassy and the Ploenchit station.  The gym is somewhat too small and congested though the pool area is nice to check out.

Hyde & Seek, Gastro bar, soi Ruam Rudi, Phloenchit BKK

Got told by TC about this place almost a year ago, but could only try it very recently.  To me, the food is not bad.  Though some of the dishes might not be comparable to Minibar Royale (e.g. the duck confit and the salad), the roast chicken was unexpectedly good and at a very reasonable price for this big chicken.  The iced mocha is pretty good too but too much ice cubes in it.  Need to order 2 to go with the meal.  The highlight should have been their house signature burger but a bit disappointing that the bun wasn't quite right (some sweet egg flavour and the worst it's warmed in micro-wave).  It's very ironic that why they made the bread before the meal even better than the bun of the burger.  The meat patty was at average.

Novotel Phloen Chit, BKK

This hotel is in a very convenient location right in front of the Phloen Chit BTS sky train station, within walking distance (10 to 15 minutes) to Central Chit Lom or to the other direction for Sukhumvit Nana area. The room rate is about US$60-80. Spacious and tidy room and with standard hotel facilities.

Dean & Deluca, Phloenchit, BKK

Visited this newly opened branch at the intersection of Phloenchit and Wireless Road. It offers various coffee and tea and selected choco. and cakes. Tried their iced mocha and it's average. A bit too dry and not aromatic enough. The strawberry tart was also average. After all, it's good to go check some different products in this store.

The lobby of Plaza Athenee now and then

The first 4 photos were taken very recently. The remaining 4 photos were taken 4.5 years ago. Noticed that the carpet has become quite stained and worn out. In fact, the furniture is also quite worn out, not just in the hall and lobby, but also in the restaurant. The management should really look into all these and consider a renovation at this competitive time of a large number of new hotels coming ahead.

The restaurant didn't change much at all after 4 years from my first visit. Some furniture even got a bit too worn out. It was at average to me and this time it's a bit even lower. Due to the low customers' flow, the kitchen keeps the food portion at a very small portion. I even felt like I was eating some left-over. Besides, the plates weren't clean thouroughly that I even felt some traces of dried rice on it.
