Rosanno's Italian restaurant, soi 21 Suk (Asoke) BKK

 Got told about this place several times.  Finally got here.   All the dishes we had were quite nice, though a bit salty to me.  The disappointing dish is the tomato spaghetti.  Some tomato paste and too much garlic was used.  I guess the shop used to offer something very unique and classic, but perhaps in time and after the owner returning to re-run the business, some mixed ideas were there, e.g. Paela was noted as one of their highlighted dishes.  After all, the services of this shop was remarkable.  That really made up for some flaw on the pasta.

The Gateway, Ekkaimai, Bangkok

A new mall in Ekkaimai with a number of Japanese restaurants and interior deco.  Good for those who are into Japanese stuff.

 

TWG cafe and restaurant, Emporium BKK

 Personally I don't like mixed tea leaves, as I consider Earl Grey as Earl Grey, and Pu Er as Pu Er....etc.  So it's not appropriate for me to judge the tea of this one, but I would say the water isn't nice in terms of clarity and temperature (in considering the black tea I ordered, some hotter water should have been to brew it).  Got a tea set for the highest price choice but it's not that appealing.  The sandwich is very nice after all.  The scone is a bit too dry and not taste like a scone.  The extra dessert ordered is ultra sweet.  However, the service of the old team is still very nice.  Next time I'd order an iced mocha instead.

Back to ours - there's no place like home. A special dinner at Big Shanghai restaurant, Suk 24, Emporium BKK

Passed by this place hundred times and puzzled if I should go in.  Finally the clock was turned back...  Back to something we used to have...
And here we had a special dinner.  The most surprising thing is the classic and the original cooking of hot and spicy soup which the Shanghai's hot bean paste was used, instead of the white pepper that nowadays most restaurants use.  The other nice one is the stir fried eel, also a classic cooking with raw chopped garlic with hot burning oil to bring out the aroma.  The other dishes aren't the best, they are still pretty classic.  Most of all, we could be here on a special day, and right next to Emporium.

Rooftop poolside lunch at Park Plaza soi 18, Sukhumvit BKK

As I looked at the menu, I wonder if I should try a beef burger at just THB150++. Turned out it's a nice one though it's not the best. Can't complain when we pay THB150. Then I noticed they have a lunch set at THB199 net with Thai, Western, Japanese and Chinese sets to choose. The lunch set covers an appertizer (spring roll/salad/soup) and a main course (pesto pasta, pork chop bento, garlic chicken over rice) and a fresh fruit plate as the dessert and a can of soda too. Very nice to have a poolside lunch especially on such a sunny day, without the hassle of going out.
