2012 summer review Kudos, Cafe of Crowne Plaza HK

I like the way Kudos serves the sashimi in mini bowls, pretty hygienic and a nice presentation (photo 1). Besides, the crab was served in an easy way without too much trouble (photo 3). What further impressed me is that they forwent Movenpick and take Hagen Daz mini cup. All the food are at average to above average. In terms of the price HK$268 for lunch buffet (20% discount for several major credit cards), it's much worth it.

2012 summer review: Blue Bar, Four Seasons HK

Time to update my favourite Blue Bar of Four Seasons HK. This time and again all the cold food are really nice, especially the parma ham and imported melon. Their soup and bread are superb too. This time they serve some dim sum selection and it's quite above average and at buffet standard, it's a plus. The dessert has never been disappointing. The berries salad, lemon tart and mango pudding shouldn't be missed! The only drawback is their prime rib which I find it really so so. Anyway, I still enjoy eating all the cold food and that's why I like about Blue Bar.

鳳城美食, 灣仔汕頭街 Fung Shing restaurant, Shantou Street, Wanchai HK

This shop is one my regular visited shop for a big full meal for a bowl of soup, a big bowl of rice and a drink. 12 years ago, this set big meal set was about HK$32. Last week when I tried it, it is surprisingly kept at HK$37. Their signature fish patty slices soup is still pretty good. Then the pork chop with over-easy egg on rice with sweet soy sauce is highly recommended. They only pan fry the pork chop and egg to the order. My top priority is still their stewed beef brisket with turnip. They often put 3 big chunks of sweet soft turnip in it with lots of brisket cuts. Their house brisket sauce is excellent too. See the dry grown morning glory (photo 4). The preserved bean curd sauce is very nice. It's at a right balance of sweet and salty flavour with a bit chili in it.

砵仔糕 Mini bowl steamed cake, outside of Tak Kee Western District

On walking out of Tak Kee Chiu Chow restaurant in Western District, a cheerful granny asked for trying her mini bowl steamed cake, HK$4 for 1. It smells so good that I had to eat it right away. The red beans are very aromatic and in a very nice texture. The cake itself is not too sweet. So we can taste the original cake flavour too. Have to come back for another try.

Our old friend Kai Tak

When I saw the broken flyover, I felt kind of sad, as it carried so many vehicles and people to reach the terminal of Kai Tak.

清真牛肉館, Islam beef food, Kowloon City, HK

Yesterday I walked alone from Lok Fu to Kowloon City before I further walked through Sun Po Kong, Choi Hung to Kwun Tong. It was 3pm I passed by this shop. A golden opportunity of avoiding the crowd. How could I not go in for fueling up my body? The beef buns are still so good and even the soy bean drink has a burnt aroma. 2 thumbs up! So I happily led on my walking to the east Kowloon.

Choi Hung Estate, aka Rainbow Estate Kowloon HK

Choi Hung Estate aka Rainbow Estate is in between Diamond Hill and Kowloon Bay.  The last time I was here I was with my aunt to shop for something.  I still remember the inner circle of this place and the interesting food stalls around.  This time I had a very nice soybean drink (photo 4).  So good to recharge my long walk.
