I can call it as Nightmare on Shan Tou Street 汕頭街 Wanchai. My curiosity is out of the busy lunch time in this restaurant. Curiosity can be pleasant but also devastating. The food here simply reminds me of that self-acclaimed the best Japanese restaurant in ShenZhen called 中森明菜. Wow... my lovely friends really don't know what genuine sashimi mean to them. If it's in a cheap price, I wouldn't say anything, but of course not! Fake product at genuine price! See how fake of those sashimi served, even the carrot beneath it. Then see those fake fish roes on photo 2. That reminds me of that Amici Italian restaurant in Siam Paragon! Same same awful. Then the miso soup is worse than any powder-mix miso soup. The shop kept forcing "try the pan fried fish. Try the $299 sashimi platter...". Then even tried to place the order even with my numerous denial. This shop really deserves my complaint filed thru' the Consumer's Council. They should get double - Health dept. Their shop is very dirty. The plates can be wiped with a tissue with some yellow stain. Then the wasabi is moving inside itself. Yes, the ants strolled on the wasabi. Their brother little cockroaches of course wouldn't miss the scene. They patrolled on the table edge. We left all the food untouched but then rushed to the noodle shop on the next street.

so this place is a teahouse style (cheap one) Japanese restaurant with hotel price ..
there is ppl doing business with honesty while a few businessmen run restaurants with speculation ..
Sounds terrible from what you have mentioned.
But cannot tell it is fake from the photos.
Finally there is something not good in HK.
Almost think this one is in China then ok to be fake.
