Palm Springs, CA

Spent almost a year in Palm Springs, California in 1994. I recalled I wrote to my friend in Taipei, telling her "seeing the snow up on the Mount San Jacinto but I am on a ground of high heat....". Yes, this is the scene. Also looking at the swaying palm trees. Imagine if they are whispering to you. That's how I came up with my email name whispalms - whispering palms. I treasure this photo so much, witnesses my feeling for Palm Springs.

You stayed here for one year? Are you studying here?
Now I know the meaning of your email address. I was thinking why and I kind of figure out this is related to either your palm or the palm Tree. But I did not expect this is the Palm Tree at Palm Spring, CA.

Yes, stayed there for a project with some local friends. I ran in between LA and Palm Springs quite much... haha... my Palm Springs even made a joke with me that I know the freeway in CA better than them as I often gave them instruction of where to turn. There was one time I led them to Laughlin/Bullhead City on the 3 state border (Nevada/Arizona/California). That's a nice place and I prefer it to Las Vegas. Haha... same as Taipei I told my local friends the same and even told them how to take the subway in Taipei. If I can drive in Bangkok, it wouldn't be a problem with me I guess.

Interesting, at that return trip to Palm Springs, I found out there is a road called "whispering palms" (maybe a new road). Some of the road names like "Vista Chino", "Ramon" are still in my memory.
