The Oriental, Bangkok

As now this hotel becomes a hot topic again, here are the photos I took in the summer of 2006. My sister's family and I had such an unforgettable time, especially my nephew Jason, because all the staff in the Oriental called him "Mr. Jason". At the breakfast, he was given much attention and given some special mango Tango drink. This is the good part of the Oriental's services. In summer of 2007, my another sister's family went there and the staff were so attentive. My niece asked for a "cold" chocolate, then they served a cold chocolate without ice. The next day, she ordered an ice chocolate, then they gave her a icy cold chocolate with ice. Ain't it something?

1/2. bath room - so big, with one bath tub, one shower, 2 washing basin and a big jar of bathing salt and many bathing amentities.
3. the bedroom - the bed with some very nice silk beddings and the bed is perfect!
4. the corridor - on every floor they will have a staff taking care of your need 24 hours a day
5. breakfast by the river - the breakfast is superb with more than 10 kinds of fresh juices. We spent 2.5 hours on the breakfast.
6. the swimming pool for the kids - we had so much fun time in this pool.

the Oriental response to current economy situation has some promotion rates offer to airlines package

it is good chance to stay with the Oriental with a cheaper tag (but service standard doesn't decline la)

just bear in mind pls when u r going to take a pic (esp. at night or at the China House) in the premises, whisper to the air 'excuse me, allow me to take a few pics pls' to avoid some bad luck to ur camera

yes, the package with CX is arond HK$3,600 for 3 nights (3rd night room only) on a share twin basis until this summer season. I think single is about $5,600 something.

Yes, I am now mourning on my 400D for my being so inconsiderate of its feeling... :(

So r u guys suggesting we try this or not? Whisper to the air "excuse me...". This is scary. I think I am ok because many hotels and places may have something special.

OK, I would like to buy this Oriental package. Thailand Club, please kindly work on it for me. This is a good deal. In fact, even with its regular rack rate, the price is still cheap compared to those in Vegas. Wynn costs $475 per night for the cheapest room and I don't like it that much.(I have visited Wynn and I don't like it as much as I like Oriental BKK.) Wynn is just big big big with no character. Even Mandalay Bay or Ballagio are better than Wynn and they are $100cheaper(at least Mandalay Bay has a man made beach with wave for surfing, a lazy river and also a famous wine cellar while Wynn has nothing special).
No wonder Thailand is the number one city in the world for travel and leisure due to the high quality and low cost.

Yes Oriental Bangkok is very good. I have been there. Oriental Bangkok is even better and cheaper than the famous Hilton Waikoloa in Big Isalnd($475US per night) and the Grand Weilea in Maui($450 US per night).
I have been all over the world but I found hotels in Bangkok the best value and quality.
By the way, I stayed in France once staying in a hotel($700 US per night) and it sucks.

Stella, the package I mentioned is a local HK CX (HKG-BKK roundtrip) plus hotel 3 nights. So if you wanna try that, your final destination should be HKG and then take that package from HKG but that CX ticket is an excursion ticket with validity only for 7 days in BKK; so it's still not feasible for you. I think there should be some websites or your local LA agent may have some BKK hotel package for Oriental. I guess Thailand Club should have a choice for you to book for a 2-3 night stay in the Oriental.

Man, we are just kidding. Don't take that serious though I did hear a lot about those stories of hotel in many places. The point is whether we wish to be in contact. The more you think of, the more you will get in contact.

Thank you "Sea" for the explanation of the CX/Oriental package. I will check with my private agent/manager on this later.
Hi Man,
I think "Sea" is not kidding about "those things". I saw them so many times in BKK at Shanga-ri-la and Oriental Hotel(from the pictures we took there are some white spots). Whenever you see white spots here they are. I did encounter "those things" in Las Vegas too with my friends(the "encounter" was just 2 seconds but it was very obvious). You don't need to be scared because "they" are more scared than you are. You just say "hi and bye" and be nice to them and respect them. They are just another kind of friends. Don't bother them so they will be friendly to you too. All "those things" I met are nice to me in a way. In fact, "they" did save my life once(as "they" woke me up and reminded me to take my medicine). Sometimes human beings may be more scary.

Man,
But don't be too friendly to "those things" either. Otherwise they will follow you.
Just treat them as those girls you don't want to mingle with while you don't want to get them mad either. Get it?

Thank you Stella. I don't make friends with them anyway. No good no good. :)
