Dim Sum lunch at Fei Ya 飛鴨, Renaissance Ratchaprasong Bangkok

Got impressed with the dinner at this restaurant. So I tried their dim sum lunch and I can say it's even better than some Cantonese restaurants (above average) in HK.
The deep fried stuff are very nice. No re-used frying oil and the final step was done perfect. Light, dry and crispy! The mango shrimp deep fried rolls (photo 2) is superb. Before my bite, I supposed it's with heavy miracle whip or mayo., but sorry it's all mango and shrimp. So surprisingly good. The chef really made very good use of the local ingredient - mango. Thai mango is very sweet and juicy. If putting too much mayo or miracle whip, that would cover up the fresh and sweet mango flavour. Cooking should be like this - making good use of the ingredients with the least seasoning or sauce. Besides, all the food are not too sweet or salty. The chef put some water chestnut in some of the filling, making it very natural sweet, and right amount of parsley and Chinese celery making it just aromatic enough, but not overwhelming. The only drawback are the Steamed rice rolls and Steamed custard buns (photo 7 & 9). Most of all, the prices are at the range from THB70-90. Recommended to make reservation as I have seen quite full house on Monday and so full on weekends. They serve dim sum lunch buffet (but I took a-la-carte for this review) at around THB600(weekdays) to 800(weekends)++.

Nice dim sum but considered expensive in BKK. $3US per dish is high end dim sum price in LA.

Stella, this is a 4.5 star hotel restaurant and to me it's much better run than JW Marriott BKK. Man Ho charges THB120 or more, not even mention China House. BTW, I can say it's better than China House. I should try Ah Yat and make a comparison. :)

Stella shall say it is considered high-end dim sum price in Pasadena or East LA, not whole LA

in case u guys were misled, i shall say LA is a mega city, Pasadena is only a very small countryside community town in LA, it doesn't represent the consuming power index in the whole LA ..

又係喎,比較應該係在同等同級的基礎上,不能光看價錢的; 邊有人攞部冇功能嘅國產手提同部智能手機如iPhone去比較,都唔同級!

Dim Sum Place in LA means Monterey Park or San Gabriel Valley area.
$3US per dish is considered high end here.
Above average dim sum place charges $2.5 US per dish.
BTW, Ah Yat is better than China House in terms of dim sum; also similar to the taste of high end dim sum in LA.

Thanks for the comments. Quite a nice debate. Let's get here some time sooner for a dim sum lunch and an ambient dinner too. :)

Don't worry TC, take your time to sleep and no need to wake up early. We can go without you as long as SEA is there.
We will bring you back some left over though. LOL. :)

TC, remember I told you someone is 99% like Stella. Now that seeing how Stella responded to yours, is exactly like what I have often been told the same. Stella, I am no longer that experienced in BKK. Someone is now very good in giving prof. advices to his friends. Lately some of his friends got poisoned with Le Normandie. Within 2 months, those friends went to Le Normandie several times...

Har someone 99% is like me?
Who is that person?
I would like to meet that unique person.

I guess so, but you met this person already. :)

Oh I got it.
Must be my favorite Mr. Trainer then. Only he is as unique as I am in terms of the good MO taste, the good taste of desserts, and also daring enough to say "let us sneak out and skip TC.....". Ha Ha Ha.
Glad that I have a twin brother Mr. Trainer.

Har... "let us sneak out and skip TC"? Someone is pushing the others into the water too... Apparently a tourist trap, but this time it's the tourist who set up the trap for the host. I know why some tour guides need an early retirement. :)

Ha Ha Ha I really like you sense of humor SEA.
So are you the tourist or the host out of this? Or both? LOL. :)

Better not be neither of them. Be just a watcher or by-stander. :)
