Gao Gee 高記 Shanghai Restaurant, Taipei, Taiwan

This restaurant and Din Tai Feng were the 2 restaurants originating from Yong Kan Street 永康街. My local Taiwanese friends prefer this one to Din Tai Feng and recommends me to try the new branch in Fu Xing S. Road (close to the junction on Chung Hsiao E. Rd.).
1. Veggie salty pork rice. Pretty nice and it's not that salty. As it's served in a hot clay pot, the rice has some burnt crispy texture.
2. Siu Lon Bao. Apparently the wrap is not as thin and delicate as the one of Din Tai Feng. The pork filling is a bit better than Din Tai Feng though.
3. Stir fried veggie at average.
4. Red hot "lion head". This one is quite Shanghai style but the sauce is a bit thick.
5. Pan fried pork buns, at average.
