Super Star Seafood Restaurant 鴻星, Nathan Rd. TST, Kowloon, HK

This restaurant was another my most visited restaurants in the 90's but at my recent visit, it turned out to be "falling star".
1. Their famous deep fried "white rice" fish and peanuts and even they are now in mini-packs for sale in supermarkets. This one is still good but we are not looking for Kwun Wah or Yiu Fung snacks.
2. Roasted pork and Shanghai pork jello. At average.
3. Stone fish thick soup. At average.
4. Veggie and bamboo sheet. Below average.
5. Stir fried "big" prawn with squash. By now and I had to say "am I in a mini-kingdom?". All these dishes are very small in size and portion. Even the roasted pork is just 1cm cube. Is it "air" version of roasted pork? So this one is even hilarious. Only one prawn?
6. Glad that the abalone is still bigger than a dried scallop, but the sauce is awful. If Lee Kum Kee is expensive, at least Pearl River please.
7. When they served this as the set menu dessert, I need to open up my aperture of my eyes to F1! I used the fork to scale it. BTW, the fork is not a big one. Those for the birthday cakes. Well, if it's good, tiny is ok. The odds won't come in even. They better serve this with an electric saw.
*the set for 1 person is HK$285 and it's really insane!

well, Super Star goes trendy, they learn from Stupid Jobs, small and tiny is good!

"If Lee Kum Kee is expensive, at least Pearl River please.", or Failing Star may at least use Thais Fat Boy brand as well ..

so this is an AIR set at HK$285 (THB 1,100/ $35) per person, OMG!

Looks like they should all be just appetizers. You should ask them after "When is the main course coming?"

These do not look too appealing and yet kind of costly(also not filling).
I cannot feel full with these so no need to mention TC or SEA's cow stomach.

I almost wanna write to the Consumer's council. However, it's very tricky for them. Never thought this restaurant is now running like that. HK$285 is a horrible rip-off. I already gave "wow", "har", "what" when those dishes were served.

They may take your "wow" as a compliment saying this dish is too good and too cheap. Next time they may raise the price to $385 then you can "wow" more. Ha Ha Ha.

After those "wow", I already stated "never seen such a small portion". The waiter pretended he didn't hear it.

You are smart to add the comment after your "wow". But the waiter is even smarter....
