Maui in Hyatt Regency was $300 US when I went there in 2004. (Of course I took the simple 2-bed standard room but not the suite type like yours.) Grand Wailia in Maui(rated top 10 in US resort hotel due to its water play and big slide) was $400 US in 2004(also 2-bed standard room). Chris liked it but we did not take it. I think it is cheaper now.
I just checked with Grand Weilea today, they have promotion price of $369 now. For sure yours is a better deal as it is very boring in Maui. And absolutely no good food in Maui. Phuket is considered expensive already bit still more worth it than in Maui in terms of price, quality and good food.

It can be but the price may not be same same. Maui should be of a higher cost I guess.

Wow. You can get a very nice villa in Thailand at just U$$200-300.
