Necessary or unnecessary

Last week I posted a clip I read from a travel magazine. What will you do if you are caught in an uncomfortable situation? The book told you to walk away. Perhaps not anyone who would notice it, but to me as in dealing with a lot of correspondences and legal documents, I really don't prefer this kind of unnecessary wording. Today I argued with an attorney. He amended my standard licence by inserting some interesting wording such as "granting the right for profit or non-profit purposes". In Chinese saying, it's really "painting legs on a snake". So what a legal advice and what they told his client "we are giving professional advices". Some even interesting wording like for the territory of the entire Universe. I made a joke with my business fellow "we shall be expecting Aliens or other living things from outer space to pay licence fees to us soon.". A 4 page licence can be turned into a 10 page document. May I call for the environmentalist to look into this kind of paper wasting?

Lawyers usually charge by hour so the more time(and words) it takes the better.
Yes their wordings tend to be lengthy to show their knowledge and good writing skill.

like what we say that we know our mother is woman. I know some lawyer make too many words to make people confuse. people don't see the real point of too many words.

Yes, they want money and even more money by disregarding wasting the others' time. Besides, it would lower the others' IQ if they force the others to speak and write this kind of language. When someone is often reminded of "walk away" if they feel they are in danger. This is evan a natural animal instinct. However, if people need to be reminded of walking away from danger, they would become relying on someone's reminder instead of their spontaneousness. So this is my point. We need to be enlightened, not to be reminded.

BTW, reminder applies to those time schedule things like time to take a flight or time to go home. You know when we tell this to those squared thinking persons, they would apply all you say in one theory. :)

That is the main job for most of the lawyers: make you feel stupid and retarded so you need to rely on them for "reminder" and consultation.

Oops.. we need to speak for some good lawyers. There are quite many good ones, very sensible and reasonable and most of all respectable. They write precisely to the points with no clumsy wordings, very expressive!

Yes I agreed with SEA. All our lawyers in my office are efficient, effective, helpful and precise.
And they don't charge by hours(they are on salary base) and that is why.
