In just 2 weeks, there were 3 times of tornadoes taking place off Chai Wan and NT West. Heavy rain came in an hour suddenly with over 150mm rainfall in an hour. Tornadoes were not common in the old time but now I am seeing the sky turn into stormy black very often. Something we can't see become seen - the moisture and warmth turning into storm. The Nature howls.

Yes, Jade Channel did report the heavy rain and storm in HK.
Kind of rare.
Oooh! Changing weather. Take care of your health, my friend. I hate it when the weather throws tantrums.
Thanks Android. The weather has been changing a lot in recent years. Just like 2-3 years ago, KL had the most devastating rain. The first time I saw KL as a big water pond.
Stella, you can come back to HK at any time and no one would dare to say you are outdated. :)
How can I be outdated when I have you, Jade Channel, plus the East Weekly and Ming Pao Weekly.
Thank you SEA for the constant update of HK food, HK historic places, and all the collective memory.
Please take care during the rainy and stormy days. It seems the weather is abnormal all over the world. This Summer it is quite cool in LA; hot in East Coast; flooded in China; stormy in HK....... The world is getting crazy.
Today's news said we will soon run short of food. Massive drought, fire, hot or rainy weather...
All of those disasters are mentioned in the last chapter of Bible in fact. Sometimes it is quite scary.
Today's news about HK is about the "Private Kitchen" eatery in HK is a trend. There is one famous Private Kitchen in Wan Chai and one in North Point. The owner's name is Jacky.
They said if you mentioned you are referred by Li Sing Tak in LA you don't need to wait in line. You can try.
Jacky Yu is a good one, u can watch his program through TVB Life, if u don't hv, can watch it free online; and, sorry Stella, the best "Private Kitchen" in HK is Sea's home, so why he bother others ..
Stella, if that's Jacky Yu, first: the shop is not in North Point. It's in Tai koo shing. Second, maybe I don't pass by at a right timing. Though I pass by it almost everyday at around 6-7pm or 12noon time, I haven't seen any line. I still see quite many tables inside. So no need to bother any name. Besides, even so, I don't encourage people taking advantages by mentioning about something. When we see the hot news in HK about a judge's niece snapping a HK police and got away clean. It's something we don't wanna see. If we do the same thing, we are just one of those people.
By the way, those restaurants run by Jacky Yu are no longer so-called private kitchen. Private kitchen is to avoid the laws restricting a household to run restaurants by calling themselves to invite friends to eat.
TC, thanks for the compliment. I do hope to try it but it's not convenient for me to do so.
By the way, among all the chefs on the TV, I would think To To (besides my idol Chow Chung) is good at cooking and also with much knowledge. He still uses raw iron wok. This is the fundamental point. Also, though I don't agree to some cooking of Suzie Wong, Suzie Wong also uses raw iron wok. The other chefs use those non-sticky pans. For quick cooking and easy home cooking, it's ok. However, it's on TV and about professional cooking, non-sticky pans are really in question.
By the way, Stella, how come the LA news mentioned it the trend for private kitchen is a trend now. It was here a long time ago, at least more than 15-20 years. :)
Now you know how behind LA is, in terms of any trend: fashion, eating, private kitchen....
LA just started to talk about private kitchen now and they mention this is a "trend".
That is why LA fits me. I feel like 15 years younger(behind).
I think there is no need for CA people to have private kitchen. CA living style is already very home warming. You invite me for a drink in your house and I invite you to come over for a turkey meal...etc. So what for a private kitchen? :)
Thank you SEA for thinking of this good excuse.
Everyone knows LA is behind on fashion, eating, and everything else.
I heard that HK now has some eatery with BBQ party service for customers.
That means customers can pay to have a fake BBQ party with friends. Hope LA has this service too(make be 15 years later) again. We love home style BBQ.
SS
Fake BBQ party? So they serve fake chicken wings and fake pork chops? Then is it for Chinese funeral services? :)
I don't think LA is behind. Just CA people tend to enjoy life rather than make themselves hectic for business like NYC. Remember a saying "do it in a New York minute.".
