How to mend a broken heart, Shama serviced apt. Sukhumvit 2, BKK

Was the 2nd guest checking in this new serviced apt. newly established right behind JW Marriott on Sukhumvit soi 2 with both entrances from soi 2 and soi 4 (nana). Tried it because of the ex-Adelphi Grande sales switched to this new apt. Unfortunately this apt. was too new to have all the facilities in full function. At first, there was no water. Even with the water supply later, it's just cold water and the engineer tried so hard to fix it but failed. Actually taking a room temperature water shower is not that big deal to me, but the management felt so ashamed of it. When I checked out, I was offered a complimentary stay next time with a letter of apology....etc. Besides, when I tipped the bell boy for handling my luggage to the taxi, he refused of taking it and expressed that he felt sorry for the inconvenience caused to me and shouldn't take any tipping from me. BTW, Shama first grew from HK, with the first one opposite to Times Square (Causeway Bay), and rapidly having a few more for the past 6-8 years.

The above looks quite simple but it tells something the management should do to make a remedy for something they did wrong. Unlike that so-called 5-star top 10 riverside Peninsula, they felt you were begging for their services rather than thinking they did something really wrong. See how a common serviced apt. can out-win that Peninsula in just one simple thing.

This hotel is very modern and has the contemporary appeal like the VIE we stayed.
However, hot water is important for my shower, lukewarm is not enough.

I would however choose to stay at Marriott Vista Sathorn or AG provided that I am not "hijacked" to stay at MO. What I posted here is to tell how a proper management should be done and how they know they did something wrong. Didn't mean to speak loud I can get their complimentary stay.

Can you actually just fall off the building from the edge of the roof top swimming pool? From the recent posts, looks you are living in BKK now and just moving from hotel to hotel to rate them, LOL.

Yes Pixmation,
BKK is SEA's 2nd home, and during August and Sept his 1st home.

Pixmation, those swimming pools have been very popular in SE Asia, esp. in HK, Singapore, KL and BKK. It's called infinity pool. It looks like you are swimming with the view, but of course there is a step off to it. So at this building, there is one more floor off of it and a flatter step off the pool's edge, about 2-3 feet. But from the photo it looks like there is no edge. Mmh... a must for you to visit BKK to see some designers' stuff.

My time spent in BKK are pretty short, and as you know going to BKK is like going to Lantau Island. 2 hour flight plus 1 hour departure and 1 hour transportation. Many airlines crew staff often go to Taipei or BKK for a dinner or lunch and return on the same day. :)

I like this kind of swimming pool a lot, it feels like there is connection with outside with no boundary just like the VIE we stayed.

I was told the Intercontinental Hotel in HK has a nice pool connecting to the Victoria Harbor too.

SEA is lucky enough to go to BKK just like going to New Territory. Only HK people can have this luxury.

Yes, the Inter-continental does have such a pool view (actually built at the time of Regent).
