180 degree, the restaurant of Villa Zolitude, Chalong, Phuket, Thailand

180 degree - yes, it's really 180 degree view to the green, the bay and the hillside. The restaurant earns its name. A restaurant is like a soothing soul in a hideaway restaurant. If it's not well run, it would just spoil your hideaway time unless you need to fast. Some often say hotel food is not preferred as they are not local but I don't agree to it especially in hotels in most Asian countries. Restaurants in hotels stand for how they represent locally and how they treat customers.

1/2. the restaurant.
3. the tables are set in a distance. Quite cozy. 4. check the details of the side wall.

5. tray for the tea selection.

6. Bananarama THB120 (not the 80's British pop group) - a smoothie with banana, yohurt and lots of honey. Of course, lots of honey is specified, it's very sweet but why complain when it says "lots of honey". 7. Red Ruby THB120 - banana, papaya, orange juice, yohurt. Both are quite nice.

8. Hamburger THB280. Though it's not the best but no complaint as it's just THB280 at this kind of 5 star resort. 9. veggie pizza THB180. A good one especially it's just some veggie for not eating too much meat.

10. iced coffee THB110 - quite aromatic. 11. Mini apple tart with vanilla ice cream THB150. A bit too sweet to me but the apple tart is quite nice.

12. Caesar salad with deep fried chicken drumstick THB220. In general, most dishes are at the range from THB150 to 280. Very reasonably priced. 13. It was 4:30pm and the waitresses changed the table clothes to tune in "dinner" time. Also, each table cloth is different. This is another little detail they do, but change the whole atmosphere.

14. even toothpicks are in the same color green. 15. the restaurant outside. Downstairs is the conference room.

16. dinner time. Start with Onion soup THB150. 17. nice herb bread to go with.

18. Seared scallops on zesty salad THB220. This is something about the restaurant. In considering it's just THB220, we can't expect those big scallops. So cooking this kind of small to medium sized frozen scallops are of some technique. This one is not bad. The salad is good too. 19. Pad Thai (THB180) is my must try dish at many resorts and hotels in Thailand. So this one is pretty good.

20. Masaman curry THB180 - I asked for no spicy. Then it's really no spicy, but the taste isn't bad. Very aromatic with peanut. 21. the open kitchen.

The dinner here is relatively cheaper than the snack and iced coffee(almost $4 US).
