Light up their life, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon, HK

I was asked why I carried such a big flash in such a sunny day. So in the below situation where it's on the backlight and a big crowd of tourists are jammed in front of those idol statute. I was amazed at how powerful of the 580EX flash is. I stood from afar about 30 feet away and zoomed to take these photos.

Nice shots.
The first statute looks like Bruce Lee.

It's quite amazing with the power of the flash, supposedly it can be effective for 100 feet. For this situation without a flash, the picture would need to way overexposed the background to almost just white and with a very slow shutter speed.

Thank you SEA for the confirmation.

Now that the external flash is not just for light compensation but for quite many uses. It does correct me from some incorrect thinking about flash, or more properly strobe I should call.

These photos were taken on a zooming to avoid those tourists' heads... :) So all were zoomed in upper half.
