The Garden, the hidden, Bangna, Bangkok

Ok, as in the Thailand Unseen Gourmet's blog as www.thaisclub.blogspot.com taking a quiz on "what were we doing in this place".  Stella got the prize already.  So it's time for me to introduce this lovely roof top garden.  I hope my roof can be as big as this one so that I can have a even bigger BBQ party for my friends and families. Ok, back to this place, when I first went into the lobby of this mansion, immediately there came a "wet" moulding smell in the lift lobby.  Actually I don't doubt Thailand Club, but just can't stand that smell.  My ex-apt. also had that smell but if you can decorate your inside apt. nice, after you open your door, there is another world.

1. Ox Tongue in red wine sauce: I don't like Ox Tongue but this one really impressed me a lot.  They made the Ox Tongue very tender and the sauce is excellent.  We even asked the waitress to leave the sauce for us.

2. Fried Rice with salty fish: my favourite!  The chef made it wonderful - not too soft and not too hard.  The salty fish is not too overwhelming and they put some diced Kai Lan (veggie).  One thing about Thai fried rice is that they will first stir fry the egg to make the egg aroma into the rice.  I like it a lot and I took it all without letting Thailand Club touch it!

3. Watermelon shake - at such a nice place, why not get something chill, esp. it's a sunset time.

4. Thailand Club to introduce the indoor dining area - kind of classic.

5. the water fountain

6. I like the toilet too!

7. the sofa we had our meal.

Hi,
I like Mr. Thai's picture so please don't change.
You are lucky Sea, you don't need to do the guessing and you can still come here before us. Whereas I have to earn my meal here by thinking so hard, trying to cheat, and eventually lucking out.
This looks so gorgeous and surpringly appealing. This is really one of Thailand's hidden gourmet place.

I wanna try the salty fish fried rice too. Very nice to go to a restaurant on the top floor of this building. Also fun too to guess what is inside.

Haha, it's a restaurant inside! We guess too much. Do they have a location map?

I know of course. I chose the 3rd one. Please check it again. :)

Man and all others are very good at guessing this place and I appreciate all of your analysis. So please buy me an air ticket and I will bring you to all of those places...haha. Call me and I will tell you how to get there.

nope, not this one :(

I checked again and it should be this one. Otherwise, please email me and I will post that up. :)

Haha... or I post all the 3 photos for the browser to find out 10 differences as a game.... :)

Are the photos being changed or just my illusion? They look different tonight.

thanks in-the-sea, i like the new picture (not because i look better, but the dining room look more attractive if we look closely between 2 pictures)

:)

OK, so I was right. The photo has been changed.
Thanks Thailand Club.

Yes, at the request of Thailand Club I just changed. We found out something very strange. After we took photos in China House of Oriental Bangkok, 2 of our cameras got something not in order or I should say mine was broken. I did copy all the photos from Thailand Club but somehow this one is not. Then for the rainbow trout we took at the Garden, the photo was gone.... but we are so sure the photo was taken!

Thailand Club said...

maybe 'something' doesn't like we go to the Oriental too often!

ee ee scary

Anyway no plan to go to eat at China House, too expensive.

Wow may be there is an invisible friend tagging along. It may be a good one though.
Jade Channel is showing the TV Series called "Invisible Detective"(actors are Lam Ka Tung and Lam Po E and actresses are Chan Miu Ying and Yeung Chien Wa).
No need to reply me Sea. I know you are busy.

This Garden looks very impressive. The photos look good and I don't see what is wrong with it.
Stella, I would like to book this tour also.

Maggie

yes impressive, that's why even take an hour ride i still go to eat there, people know me well all understand i just move around in the city center (except for works), i hate going far, max. 30 mins riding time, and i am stick to Sky Train as i hate traffic jam, but i grant an exception to the Garden

my first impression to this restaurant was, oh sh-t, what a run down apartment and i must be raped this time, getting into the lobby and the lift even worse, bad smell carpet, old rust lift, oh My God!

but when the lift opened at 6th floor, where is the roof floor and where the Garden is, oh sh-t, simply paradise on earth

another surprise is, the food is decent good too

:)

however, friends from USA and European countries may not need to visit this roof top restaurant, as, most of u may hv more tress in your own courtyard, u guys live with greens in California, and eat mostly western food

but, for friends from Hong Kong and crowded cities, yes visit to the Garden a real lift to ur vacations

Thank you Thailand Club. I think I will go to this place next time to go to Bangkok. Will check with you or in the Sea for the direction to go there. Yes, we don't have this kind of place in Hong Kong. Sure I will tried the salty fish fried rice.

Roof top garden restaurant is a trend in LA. They follow this trend from NY and SF. But this kind of roof trop garden restaurant is expensive, with at least $50 US per person with no drink.
Yes LA has lots of trees, but no flowers.

Fillet-O Fish said...

Har surprised to learn LA has lots of tress but no flowers, so LA is green but not colourful!

Yai said...

I used to have my own roof top garden and canteen, but since I moved to the seaside, now no more trees on the roof but panorama sea view.

Hi Fish Burger,
Yes, LA has lots of trees but no flowers.
Hi Yai,
So you are in restaurant/canteen business in BKK. So next time we can eat at your restaurant.

Sorry I was away for a few days. Now should keep up the pace. OK, re Oriental, if something doesn't like us to go there that often, it's their problem and don't mess up with our precious photos taken and even my camera - it is innocent!

This Garden place is good for those from HK or people from congested cities. However, I still think all the others should try because in some way they have some shadow of Thai taste.

Har... green LA with no color - impossible. LA is such a big city from downtown LA to Malibu, all along the way, there are lots of various interesting places. I kind of miss the food court in some big malls - especially Panda Express - haha, don't think the food is as nice as those in HK, Taiwan, or China but I just miss it for some good old memory.

Please go to post of Spicy Maharaja, a new guess game started!

Welcome back to the blog Sea.
Well, if you like Panda Inn or Panda Express, the only reason is the company you went with or the special memory but not the food itself.
I like Panda too because this was the first Chinese food I could afford to eat when I first came to LA. So I like it not because of the food but the memory.
