Tried quite a no. of resorts under Small Luxury Hotel (SLH) Group, from Aleenta Phuket/Pranburi, Pimalai Koh Lanta, Aka Hua Hin to YaiYa Hua Hin...etc. Read the SLH magazine and this resort The Bale' has kept on my agenda. Finally I have been here. The resort was first built with this main section covering 17 standard one bedroom pool villas and 3 two bedroom pool villas. The 2nd phrase covers 9 deluxe one bedroom villas (to be reported later).
Before checking in the deluxe pool villa, I checked around this main section.
1-6. Though each room has a big private pool (4x8m, usually it's 3x7m in most resorts), the resort has 2 tiers of big pool next by the restaurant The Faces.
7-9. There are many small lanes and stairway around the resort, like a maze. Also, quite many streams around and all the way down to the reception area.

This time the local Indonesian food in Nusa Dua is much better than those in Ubud. Will report later.
Look forward to seeing some Indonesian food so I can compare those served here.
