Marriott group often impresses me with their buffet quality in general and lately added with this one.
1. The cafe and it's crowded. Dinner buffet at S$60++ (around US$50++).
2. Very fresh live oysters and crab too. Nice pickled and antipasti.
3. Fresh salad and nice dressing. Selected anchovy and sun dried tomatoes.
4. Marriott cafes do offer some very fine tea in a wide selection and it has a tea station for you to get your own cup of tea.
5. hot food. I don't like crab but I would try some crabs in Singapore. They are sweeter and juicier, but I don't like their popular dish black pepper crab. Such nice crabs shouldn't be overwhelmed by black pepper.
6. Drunken shrimp. So good! I took 2 bowls though the Chinese herbs in Singapore isn't too good.
7. Prime rib. This one is quite disappointing. It wasn't a good rib. Too lean but the roasting is ok.
8. Sweet. Again, Marriott cafe knows how to make dessert and cake.
9. Chendol.
10. Ice cream. This is a bit below my expectation. In many other Marriott Cafes, they use Hagen Daz. This one is no no. I also noticed the ice cream served in Singapore isn't not that frozen and too soft for me.
11. The tea and coffee station.

this buffet in Singapore, cheaper price tag to its sister hotel in Bangkok, is much much better (and much cheaper if SG GDP counted), the so call Marriott no. 1 buffet (paid award?) in Bangkok is very sucks now, last month i went there, at $55 (USD), nothing to eat, smelly fishy king crab leg, CP prawns (not fresh prawn as seen in ur pic), aged sashimi, chewy prime rib, cheap parma ham, ...
after a meal, cheap supermarket grade tea served, don't expect UK high-so tea Taylors of Harrogate being served in Bangkok's Marriott Cafe
Har... another roller coaster diving... That's what we call life. Amazing too.
its buffet is never outstanding, just so-so, now is even worst than so-so, at THB 1,450++ is cheating and daylight robbing! poor that locals still buy it, maybe they never eat good buffet b4 .. poor them!
Flavors is better, considering the price is cheaper but range of food almost same with Marriott Cafe, and quality of food better, at least Flavors serves taste-fresh king crab leg (not smelly one), and good desserts (remember Marriott Cafe Bkk's desserts is super weak?)
The food shown here looks really good quality. If this costs $50US and the BKK one costs the same, that means the BKK is overpriced as the cost of food and labor in BKK shall be cheaper. That is assuming the food quality is as good in BKK. But now TC claimed the one in BKK not good, so it is really a rip off.
Thank you SEA and TC for the sharing. Otherwise we cannot tell the same hotel buffet can be so different in 2 locations.
That's very lousy if they charge B1,450. If that's the case, we forget JW Marriott BKK. Good that we have a replacement - Renaissance. Getting excited to stay there soon. Flavours lunch buffet is just THB750 and dinner around 1k.
