I'm excited to see a photo taken by my best friend Pixmation using his new toy - Canon L-lens (or commonly called "red ring" lens - the prime lens series with very refined glass which has lowest light dispersion. Besides, the structure is quite heavy duty in many environments.
This Canon L-lens 100mm F2.8 IS USM is a newer version with IS and launched together at the time of 7D's release. Considering 100mm focal lens, it had better be with IS. What's more, lens with a focal length to 100mm with aperture to 2.8 means the lens inside is on a very wide diameter and the optical parts are very precise. So US$1,000 is not expensive considering all these high-technology being taken.
I'm amazed at this ultra-best performance of this macro lens and from now on we can see some tiny things in a big macro world. This is going to be a beautiful trap. The next step is a full frame camera...., and it's just a beginning. :) Anyway, I am so excited to see Pixmation's skill in taking this photo and the others. At first, I wondered if Pixmation used any photoshop to touch up the light beam effect. Sorry for my earlier offensive assumption.
