The first impression of this hotel is "kind of Sheraton type". The more I find, the less it's not like "Sheraton type" and I need to apologise to Sheraton.
1/2. Bathroom amenities are not enough. Not enough bathing gel and shower gel. Only 1 set and it's a miniature of a standard hotel size (30-50ml). It's just 15ml. No cotton buds and no bathing salt. No comb. No shaving kit. No no no. Even not enough ventilation. Don't even consider to have a hot bath, for those high-blood pressure people. Then I came to realise why a "valet" button is there, next to the bath tub. What a name to replace the word "emergency" or "assistance". Need to remind those elderly that the bathroom doors are tricky and easy to snap you, or you get stumbled.
3. The safe box is only big enough for your wallets only. 4. the room reflects a mini Earth's global warming. Only right corner of the desk is with a strong current of air flow. Yes, very strong current, like we are in North pole ring. Then the other parts of the room is in a tropical belt. BTW, global warming is about adverse weather to extreme heat and cold. Not just heat. The whole room is at a poor sound proof, almost won over I-Residence as I could hear the worker and dog barking (on 14th floor). Furniture is very 80's style of hotel room.
5. the design sucks. Super narrow of corridor. I need to walk like a crab and you need to backward if someone is walking towards you. I can say it's one way drive lane, more exactly. No ventilation here either. 6. the bedding is poor. Pillow sucks too. I have neck pain this morning. Also caught a "heat" cold. The lighting system is fussy! If you want your bedside light off, you need to turn off the "master" light. then go to the couch's lamp light and turn those on. Also air-conditioning is not adjusted as a degree gradual change. It's just only 4 level of temperature setting and 3 level of flow setting. TV set is in the 80's era.
7. Twin bed is against the wall. A bit congested and also just a 3 feet bed is used. It shouldn't be of a five star standard. 8. The view is so so as the window is not grand enough. Just a small square and a few squares in the room.
9/10. the working desk area. At last, one basic facility of a 2 star hotel would have but not here - coffee/tea bags and a handy electric kettle Crazy! It really ruins my experience with the Peninsula HK.

Nope.. it's not on any comparison. No cotton buds and no kettle is a fact. Not a comparison of services.... :)
Yes you guys are smart. It is good to start with this hotel first before going to MO-BKK. I bet Mr. Trainer's parents will be thrilled later.
You will appreciate MO more by the comparison.
Mo is the best, although it drops many levels.
Well, the next to any hotel or temporary quarter is saving us from hell.
