1/2. The whole resort is probably less than 10% occupancy rate, or maybe even less. I could only see 3-4 guests here in the lower section and 10-15 guests in the higher section. The whole resorts have more than 200 rooms and villas.
3. the menu. 4. Young coconut US$2.5. Quite an average price for this kind of Asian 5 star resort restaurant.
5. Well, something quite contradictory to the nice table setting - that disposable chop sticks. So by now you know this resort is not that local. Supposed it'd be a nice Thai style wooden cho sticks with a stand. 6. OK, sweet and sour prawn US$12. Very aromatic indeed. Everything on a powerful quick stir fried.
7. Pad Thai US$10. Pretty good too. 8. Stir fried flat noodle with pork US$10. In general this restaurant can make me forget about Seven Seas.

The food price is very reasonable, and in fact at the cheap side considering the level of this hotel.
10% occupancy?
So they are losing money every month.
Break even point for hotels is at least 50% in general.
Yes, may be less than that. So that's why they still charge higher to make up for the loss. They would think charging higher is better to work more on more rooms. Besides, the interesting part is that they put all the guests in one compound, e.g. one compound has 4 deluxe rooms, then they put all the guests in that. So it's easier for them to monitor and save the electricity, but the guests would feel a bit annoying if someone speak a bit louder in the room. So this is not professional at all. This again reflected the poor management of the resort.
Management is the soul of a business.
