Tried this shop several years ago and wasn't impressed. Passed by it and on a second thought, I gave it a try.
1. the menu, but one interesting thing the typical Taiwanese pickled needs to have an extra HK$3. That means, this beef noodle is really on its name "beef + noodle only" with complimentary soup. In checking at this small thing, you would know how conservative they are. HK$3 for some pickled? 2. cucumber HK$20.
3. Beef noodle HK$38. The beef was boiled in the soup base and therefore it was too mashy and almost like some fiber that it looks like beef only. Interesting the soup wasn't in much of a beef flavour after such boiling. The soup color looks very tasty but it's just some color. However, the good thing about this soup is that it's boiling hot. The noodle is so so. 4. Deep fried pork chop HK$20. The frying oil is not good and it's very oily and wet.

from pics neither the Taiwanese pickles nor deep-fried pork cutlet look impressive, maybe u need not a third attempt on this noodle shop
The 3rd attempt will be in some possible scenarios. 1. I need a hot boiling carbohydrate food. 2. Getting stuck in a black rain storm where I was at the entrance of this shop. 3. A miracle came to this shop.
is this shop run by that smelly-mouth member of legislation counsel?
Why did they call it First wife? The owner has many wives? Try second wife's shop next time. LOL!
Hi Paranoid,
They got the name just right. "First Wife" is usually not as impressive as the "Second Wife".
And "Second Wife" always has good soup.
TC, it seems to be run by that person's wife.
Android, the name may hint "this is genuine and original.".
Stella, it may depend on how the husband ranks them. However, in this case, when a certain image is promoted, it may mean "it's no. 1 and original.".
Yes, the "first wife" means it is original, official and copy right protected but it may be competed out by the "unofficial" second wife. Just like the duplicate DVD movie or song sometimes sell better since they are "cheap" and "easy".
So please support the "first wife" DVD more.
BTW, if you go to Taiwan airport, there is one beef noodle stand(opens at 6 AM) which is very good. One time I just knocked their door(5:30 AM) and asked them to open faster, which they did accommodate me(opened 5 minutes earlier). Later I was told this beef noodle stand always won some award.
if someone treats you like that, don't get bothered. Keep up in yourself. If you care who the others think, you hold some fear in yourself. You have to get rid of that fear first.
There is no need now to tell people to buy genuine DVDs or any copyright protected material. I used to be bothered but now rather let go of it. No more comments on that and we shouldn't force the others to hold the same perception. It has to be spontaneous.
That beef noodle shop is very nice and it's in the terminal 2. Besides, it's not of that "airport" price. It's just about TWD120-150 (90-110 in downtown).
