Contrast in compromise, in Quarry Bay

Sometimes when we look around, our city has been growing rapidly. Glass wall skyscrapers, luxury mansions, general housing estates and run-down factories are scattered and close to each other in Quarry Bay. Squeezed from the space grow some green. The city has been breathing too.

I really like the contrast of the old and new buildings in the photos.

The first one looks like it's one building with a different design at the bottom. :)

The front faces of the old building in the 3rd and the 4th photos are very interesting.

Overall I like the 2nd and 4th photos best.

Nice. Can I send in request for you to photo certain places? LOL

Thanks. In fact, I wanna move to a bit left to make it like even as a connected building but I was already on the side curd of the road and cars were running pretty fast alongside. :)

These often came out of my head for a while but just the lens aren't wide enough. Interesting this one is just 17-40 as compared to the kit lens 18-55, but this one is like 20% wider than the 18-55. Personally I like the 2nd one as these are in much contrast of how Quarry Bay evolved from a factory place to a high end commercial area. The 4th one as well - the right one is a very expensive apt. of about HK$15 to 20k per sq. foot. The middle one is Nam Fun Sun Chuen and it's about HK$6k per sq. foot. The left one is Tai Koo Mansion and it's about HK$3k to 4k per sq. foot.

What are the places you have in mind? Wong Tai Sin Temple, Repulse Bay, or the Peak? :)

Very contrasting; a good reflection of the rapid growing and fast changing in HK.

It sometimes grows fast enough we may not have enough time to digest.

That is why HK people can talk fast, think fast, read fast, work fast, walk fast.... Everything in HK has a fast pace.
That is why US people cannot survive in HK. They will keep standing at the same spot waiting for a taxi from morning till night without getting one.
