Plantation pool villa, The Pavilions Phuket - review part 1

Wanted to try this resort for quite some time but somehow the past trips ended up at other resorts. It used to be called Phuket Pavillions with a sister property in Bali. The resort once has 3 types of villas, Ocean Front, Tropical and 3 bedroom family. As of middle of this year, the resort has launched a new wing called Plantation pool villa taking another view to the Laguna area of Phuket (where Dusit Thani, Banyan Tree and Outrigger residence are). My preliminary review would be:
1. In entering the resort, a nice gate opening with a nice drive way with young bamboo, leading you to another dimension of Phuket.
2. The house manager came to greet us and it's very warm. Also a pleasant surprise to learn that she is from Grasse of Southern France, where I visited this year on my annual Cannes trip. In general the staff are very nice and friendly.
3. The design of this pool villa is quite Chinese and used with some quality material and products. Note the below photos were taken in 2 different living room setting. We changed to a villa on a higher level to have a better panoramic view to Laguna area.
4. Spacious living room, bed room and sun deck area, plus a spa room with a steam sauna. It's about 4000 sq. feet in total. *photo 4 is a mirror in reflection but I hid myself from one of the objects when taking this photo.
5. It has a cable car (photo 12) for room guests to go up and down. Will take a video since today it's under maintenance. So thoughtful for the elderly or staircases-climbing challenged.
6. Quite many interesting signs and design stuff. Photo 13 is a slider to show "clean the room" or "privacy".
7. The bath room is a bit too dark in design. Need some time to fix my photos. To be continued....

Very nice. The only thing that I am not sure is the huge red flower print on the wall, it provides some contrast to the room but personally I prefer something little more subtle.

Did you rearrange the furnitures yourself? Is there like a user manual in the room to show you different configurations? LOL.

I like #5 and #6 the most. After viewing #5 then look at #6 really gives me the feeling of being there and the drapes and the red pillows are very nice touch in the frame.

#13 I am wondering what picture they use for the privacy.

Wow Wow Wow.
This resort is so high end and "Ho"(this "Ho" is not that X'Mas Holiday "Ho").
OK. A "Ho Ho Ho" stay for the "Ho Ho Ho" holiday.

Yes, this resort is more than what is shown on their website. So US$450 net at this Christmas peak season is a real bargain (though I paid less than $400).. :)

Pixmation, I need to hold the camera on a high angle to take photo no. 5. Re the red thing, it's a towel. Hehe... this is the amazing part of Thai people rolling towel so tight. Re the rose on the big wall, it's huge as you can see it's compared to a 42" LCD TV. At first, I thought it's distracting, but when you are close to the TV in the couch, then you feel like you are embraced by the flower. Personally I like it as it reminds me of a "gone" hotel - Reflections where they posted a huge man and woman with a teardrop in their eye.

I changed to another room and the living room is a big different. :)

Thanks again Stella for the Ho Ho Ho greeting.
