2012 summer review: Clippers Lounge, Mandarin Oriental HK

When the buffet price of Clippers Lounge has been increased to HK$438 (once 278 and on a 10-20% increase every now and then since 2009), it is getting easier to book a table. Glad that the prime rib, the seafood - with more variety to abalone, wild mushroom soup and the dessert with house made ice cream are still kept to a very quality. This time I was surprised with their parma ham station with some half-ripe tomato slices. Half-ripe tomato has some light sweetness and firmer which is so good to go with the parma ham. The price of this buffet is actually still lower than the other five star dinner buffets (e.g. HK$498 to 700).

i always agree with that to increase the price in order to keep the quality, just don't know when that B&F directors and executive chefs in Bangkok's 5-star hotels would learn it, if not, all of them please go back to school. Sigh!

$50US for this good quality buffet from MO in HK is in fact good price.

Or alternately they cut the food variety to keep the food quality. Or if they can cook something fresh to keep the quality... Yes, if they are willing. 3 sighs....
Yes, SS, when eating such a similar high grade prime rib in other places, it would cost around HK$400 to 500.

For the same quality of food with so many varieties it cost at least $100 US.
In fact there is not even one with the same standard in terms of the same quality and varieties.
