One bed room pool villa, Pimalai Villas, Lanta Island

Even at the off season, one night at this pool villa is still at US$550net. If the HK agent didn't have a further bargain, I would have just gone for the Phuket Pavillions. Anyway, the view is superb and the room facilities are quite family style. Anyway, this resort has put much ad. in every travel magazines for promotion, and claimed for an award...etc.

1. the bath room is very spacious. 2. an outdoor shower.

3/4. the pool is pretty big with a very nice view. Strange and lucky that I was put on the first row of this pool villas. Those at the second and third rows, the pool is just a plunge pool without the longer extension part of this pool. Same price but different things. The pool's bottom and edge are not well finished. Some are pretty sharp.

5/6. the living room.

7. the bed room. 8. view to the hillside and the sea.

9. view to the sea. 10. the kitchen is not in good order. Broken litter bin, and something quite torn.

11. a stove good for a family. 12. plenty of bottled water. Quite thoughtful.

Very nice but expensive.
Looks like a 7-star resort hotel.

Well, 7 star view, 7 star big pool, 7 star cleaning, 7 star local staff..., but
3 star bathroom furnishing, 3 star bedding, 3 star bath gel/shampoo, 2 star pool tiles (that cut my palm a bit), -7 star senior management.

So at average it's still a 3 star. If without that senior management negative balancing, it can be a 5 star. :)

u know why those farangs enjoy working in Asia?

simply they don't find the same offer at home

but sooner or later, they r difficult to survive in Asian market, their jobs will be replaced by locals

To my knowledge, most of them have some fortune and work here with some superior feeling. Actually some are attributed to some Asians who often think "foreign" is the best. Just like some people commented on travelling in Thailand when seeing an auto-sensor working escalators, "oh, this is very advanced and like a foreign country". I simply replied, yes, to us Thailand is a foreign country. So in those people's eyes, foreign means US/Europe. They never take Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia in their eyes. It's very pathetic indeed. Then with such people who are so pro-west (we are not speaking against the US/Europe), that of course attract those people with their fake ego to live and work in Asia.

Yes, sooner or later, they need to see the real facts. Sad for them to see it as they would rather complain than adapt to it.

Forgive them. They don't know what they are doing. Also, they don't see the keen competition out of their "well".
