Doo Rae Korean restaurant, Bangkok

Got told by some locals about this restaurant serving nice Korean food. So why not for a try! Doo Rae is in that Sukhumvit Korean plaza on soi 12 Sukhumvit, a few shops away from Arirang.

1. Ginseng Chicken soup: soup base is nice but the ginseng wasn't that aromatic. 2. Kimchi soup - also pretty nice. In general the food is pretty nice and also at a normal level of taste (as compared to Arirang, this one is a bit more salty).

3. the condiments is a bit less (should be much less considering it's a Korean restaurant). 4. the typical Korean chopsticks and spoon
5/6. the entrance

7. another view to the inside. 8. Stone rice

9. Ox Knee soup - pretty nice but the garlic and the white pepper is a bit overwhelming. However, that was to off set the smell of ox knee. 10. chilled noodle - the noodle is a bit not too chewy and the soup isn't chilled enough, but the chef put some nice ginger slices that got back my taste in it.

I like the Bing Bing Pong Pong Rice and the Ginseng Chicken soup for Korean food.

I tried Arirang 2 days ago when I was in Bangkok. I tried the cold noodle and ginseng soup and they are very good but the kimchi seems not so hot. Very colorful small dishes. But I can't try this one becaue my trip was too short. Thanks.

Good that you finally made your trip. Must be exciting for you after quite a long time. I agreed that the kimchi in Arirang is not that hot. Actually at the last try, some of the food was not too good. Seems like the restaurant's quality fluctuates... Hope it's not like the stock price.
