From a distance

Had a re-visit at the newly found the one and only classic Chiu Chow Garden in Vicwood Plaza. Due to the 100mm fixed focal length macro lens, I had to stand up and actually from a distance at another table, to take a full view of the dishes. This time I set the below at the aperture range from F5 to F6.3 at 1/30 to 1/60 shutter speed and ISO at 200-400. Considering 100mm with F2.8, the depth of field (DOF) is pretty contrast. That's actually 50mm with F1.4. Anyway, F5 is still much noticeable on the DOF, but if the F stop goes higher to 8-10, light is a concern. Since it's macro, the ISO can't be set too high due to noticeable noise. So a macro light is needed when light source is an issue.
1/2. Steamed diced scallop/veggie in egg white wrap, HK$88. The egg white wrap was made in a perfect texture. Not too chewy and not too soft. The diced scallop/veggie filling tastes so good. Beneath is a sliced turnip. The whole dish is very light and fragrant not to overwhelm the scallop sweet flavour. Highly recommended.
3/4. Sweet and sour pork, HK$68. This is the right one. Finally found it at this classic Chiu Chow Garden.
5/6. Deep Fried "nine belly" fish, HK$38. Very dry deep frying. Crispy outside and juicy inside.
7. "Spring" veggie salty spare ribs casserole, HK$78. A nice one and good to be as a soup.
8. Steamed red date cake, HK$22. Very nice. Aromatic and smooth.
9. Taro paste 竽泥 with lily bulb (not sure the exact term. It's 百合), HK$18. This Chiu Chow sweet is my "love and hate" dessert. The essential ingredient beside taro is lark. It can't be nice without lark. Anyway, I am willing to get guilty to try this one. The lily bulb is good to offset the greasy part.

Yummy dishes, especially when the food is enlarged and look bigger.

Good that this super "Go Ching" camera is only taking picture on food rather than people's face. :)

Pixmation, you are right. The egg white wrap takes quite some time. Thanks for the notes on Mrs. P blog. Well taking note of that. :)

Stella, I did and I can even tell when the pimples can "explode" thru' this macro lens. I also saw some tiny dusts in the cracks of my macbook keyboard. I wanna write to Canon to have an ad. to tell the others what should be cleaned thouroughly. :)
