Flower Trump 花滿樓, 1st quarter review, Central, Hong Kong

OK, brought my friends from the States to visit one of my favourite restaurants. The overall comments is good.

1. drunken chicken - still at their quality best. Our best friend doesn't drink but she took all the wine sauce of this one! You would know how much she likes this one. I would rate this one as a "must try" at this restaurant. 2. seafood fried rice - pretty good too.

3. Chicken wonton soup - my friends were pretty impressed with the soup. Glad they still keep it up. 4. 3 mushrooms stir fried with baby veggie. Another nice dish.

5. spare ribs in sweet vinegar - good too and even my friends noticed the difference of the vinegar as it's from Zhen Jiang 鎮江. 6. Stir fried egg white 賽螃蟹. This one is really difficult to cook, and used with a lot of oil to make the egg white smooth and not dried.

7. Burnt fried pork in hot bean paste 回鍋肉. This one is a bit too sweet to me. The hot bean paste is not strong enough and the pork should be burnt a bit to have the burnt aroma. 8. Stir fried eel - supposed the eel should be coated with some cornstarch first and then slightly fired before stir fried. However, this one is not done in that way. A bit common.

9. Deep fried banana/red bean sweet in egg white ball - pretty good. 10. the shop entrance.

1st quarter review, u still hv 3 parts to show us?

aiya the no. 9 so happy to find out Bangkok has it too, not in a fancy hotel outlet, but in a very old fashion Chinese restaurant; it is Tang Jai Yoo (lucky Stella and Chris had been there)

All of these are my favorite Shanghai dishes.
Your visitor is lucky.
The won ton chicken soup looks very well prepared for a long time.
No 9 is the "but see" banana right? I did not think I ate at BKK yet. Where?

haha... more specific it's review on the 1st quarter term. That means we need to go there regularly to make sure the quality is maintained.

Stella, the no. 9 should be 高力豆沙. The one you mentioned is 拔絲香蕉 that you need to dip those sticky stuff in icy water to make it crispy due to the syrup being chilled.

Oh yes, I mixed up. Thank you SEA. I did not eat "But See Banana" for a long time. Miss it so much.
