Yes, my local Japanese friends told me their good stuff are reserved for domestic uses, unlike other countries. I can tell from all the food I took for these few days.
That is OK so that we can get more $$$ from Japan. We prefer this way. Sour cherry is good as it is only $1.99 US per lb. Just like we export the best oranges and keep the sour ones in the US. Sunkist Orange is seldom seen in LA.
SS, I did notice that why Sunkist Orange is rarely found in the States. Instead, those oranges are from Florida.
The US cherry here in HK is at arond HK$20-25@lb (US$2.5-3) and they are ultra sweet. Wondered if I can bring back some US cherry into the States and simply told the customs it's from US originally and I just wanna bring it back home. :)
