Chi Fu Garden/Pok Fu Lam 置富花園/薄扶林, HK South West

Passed by this area quite many times but today I could stop by and took a look around this area. Another thing I noticed is our subconscious derivative Cantonese pronounciation of 薄 that we pronounce as 博, same like 銅鑼灣 as 銅鑼環.

The above quarters are now rarely found in Hong Kong.

Is this the so called "lazy sound"?

I guess it's not lazy sound. Somehow it just evolved this way. Of course, we are not that "biting" the word. Its just a thought or idea that flashes up in my mind.

We have lived here since 2004 and prior to that I lived in To Kwa Wan. The difference between the two areas are like chalk and cheese. The latter is your typical urban dense housing, a lot of which was built around the 50's. However, Chi Fu is about 30 years old (archaic by Hong Kong standards) and has a country park abutting it. That means you don't need to get on a bus to travel into the hills. Very nice when you want o get away from it all.

Thanks Anonymous for the remarks on Chi Fu area. At that time of my visit, I did enjoy the quiet atmosphere. It's one of the nice areas in HK, especially nowadays many areas are very packed.
